JONNY’S NEW TORTELLO!
The latest truck to join the mixed fleet of JG Williams of Cheshire is a Euro 5 Iveco Stralis. Piloted by Jonny Platt, this new truck is already showing signs of being a favourite in the yard, even if at first it wasn’t! James Williams and Johnny gave us the truck and asked us to work our magic and design a truck (within budget) that was different to any others. The last truck we did for the Williams was an R500 topline which we nicknamed “THE BULL” and gave her a comedic style logo on the side of the cab depicting a bull wearing a scania griffin crown with a V8 freeze brand on its hind. So, in keeping with this theme we called the stralis “Torello” – Italian for baby bull. (I hope!! )
So, what did we do:
Changed the standard Iveco issue airhorn for a pair of good quality chrome Hadley horns.
Danish style headboard with a pair of hella beacons switchable between off, on with main beam flash and simply on.
Cut the visor out and mounted 4 x hella jumbo 320 spotlights with amber led side light
sunk 4 x hella spotlights into the grille with the same led side light as the spotlights above.
cut 6 x hella flush fitting marker lights into the lower skirt and added 2 x double bulbed marker lights to the grille
A full set of wind kit lights ensured a definite red glow behind the cab and all finished off with a stainless steel tail pipe conversion coming our the near side under the silencer.
Vinyl Art work was designed and applied by RE Stevenson of Stoke on Trent. the little pinstriping on the front helps break up the bold red and yellow colours.
All in all a very enjoyable project to work on. Jonny is already planning phase 2!!
